"Open Day was a great success, despite howling winds which meant

we did not take guests out on the water.  Interested families and individuals still came along and we were able to explain who we were, what they could do if they joined and generally make them feel most welcome.  

There was great interest in the Introduction to Sailing courses, both adult and junior, so if someone is interested in going to one of them they'll need to book quickly before the remaining places go.  There was, however still action on the water, two Toppers were rigged and members (and one experienced guest) took turns going out and finding out just how fast a Topper can go.  

The really good bit was the wind was not just strong, it was steady

enough to allow for some quite amazing length planes right across the

reservoir width on a number of occasions - quite stupendous.  

Overall, one brilliant day.
