Open Day
Yet another successful day with a steady stream of people started arriving to find out about sailing and the Club. Club members helmed various boats and about 3 dozen people, young and old, were taken out for a sail. Some enjoyed it so much that they joined the Club there and then and more took forms for the Introduction to Sailing Course in June. It really was a great day and thanks are extended to everyone who participated.
The Robinson Building

Well the new building is up, the fitting out has begun. We’re getting there. Once finished the equipment will be moved in and we’re all going to promise to keep it tidy and put things back where they should be - and mean it and do it!
To celebrate it is planned to have an opening ceremony when the building will be named after John Robinson, Commodore 1992-1994. It’s not known when it will be yet, but will be advertised once known.

TSSC-News
With 4 teams expected the sponsored sail is planned to run High Noon to High Noon. The Club’s proceeds
are going to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and it promises to be a different weekend.
Camping is available in our usual spot for Friday and Saturday nights.
It’s also a weekend for informal sailing in your own boats during normal hours, though those wishing to sail at night in the TSSC Team Boat (why not have a go!) need to contact Tim Wilson on 01325 356868 so that he can fit you in. Don’t forget that during day and night sailing SAFETY cover is required, why not volunteer for an hour and contact Kenneth Gibson on 0191 5371712.

Lock the Reservoir Gate
Just a reminder that with the sheep and lambs in the reservoir it is important to lock the gate shut every time you go in or out.

This has gone from strength to strength so if someone is interested in attending they need to book with Mark Crangle. A major initiative this year is those who wish to can work towards their R.Y.A. qualifications—just let Mark know if you would like to do this. Dates for the rest of the season are:

The ability of lambs to demolish boat covers has been experienced by at least one member to his cost.. The lambs view the dinghy park as a playground with the dinghies considered especially good for climbing on. On one occasion there were so many on my Topper I couldn't count them! - and they use the lower boats as a step up to jumping on the higher ones.
